The collection consists of photocopies of clippings collected by the Arthur McGary family of Blackford County, Ind. The clippings are not dated but seem to cover from about 1900 to 1935, and were pasted into a scrapbook by the collectors. The clippings consist mainly of obituaries, death notices, tributes, and funeral descriptions from Hartford City papers. Also included are a few items on anniversaries, local elections, and Blackford County men drafted during World War I, as well as obituaries of Civil War and World War I veterans and soldiers. The donor has created an index of over 300 family names included in the clippings.
